Fuel Cell technology is still in it’s infancy.

A fuel cell in its current form is an electrochemical conversion device. Its main function will produce electricity from fuel (on the anode side) and an oxidant (on the cathode side), which reacts in the presence of an electrolyte. The reactants flow into the cell, and the reaction products flow out of it, while the electrolyte remains within it. Fuel cells can operate virtually continuously as long as the necessary flows are maintained. With a few problems with heat transference to be solved it will be common place in a few years powering clean electric motors. In time to come we will have the technology to upgrade fuel cells.
